The nationalism is a relative matter. 

Nationalism may can built up by various subjects. 

Such as :- by religion, language, region......... 

The regional nationalism is the most popular nationalism. 

Italian philosopher and political scientist Nicole Machiavelli founded regional nationalism. 

After coining the regional nationalism — many people of various countries started thinking that, they are the real and best nation in the world. 

 Such as :- Englishmen thank that, they are the best. 

Moreover, this thinking started other civilized and developed countries. 

E. G :- France, Germany, Japan, Turkey......... 

But it is true as like as the sun of the sky that, the real politics never depend on regional nationalism. 

Moreover, it is true that, German is German,

 Japanese is Japanese,

 Malaya is Malaya,

 European is European, 

American is American,

South Asian is south Asian........... 

But the power of politics may be captured by any person or nation. 

Alexander the Great, Ashok the great, Gengis khan the great, Timur the sword of Islam, Babur the great, Alamgir (Aurangzeb) the great, Abraham Lincoln, Benjamin Franklin, Vladimir Lenin, Napoleon Bonaparte, Mr. Jinnah, Mr. Gandhi......... Became successful according to their abilities — never by the regional nationality.

জাতীয়তাবাদ একটি আপেক্ষিক ব্যাপার। 

কেননা, ভাষা, আঞ্চলিকতা, বংশধারা ও অন্যান্য বিষয়ের উপর ভিত্তি কররেও জাতীয়তাবাদ প্রতিষ্ঠিত হতে পারে।

জাতীয়তাবাদের মধ্যে সবচেয়ে জনপ্রিয় ও প্রচলিত জাতীয়তাবাদ হচ্ছে, আঞ্চলিক জাতীয়তাবাদ।

পঞ্চদশ শতাব্দীতে ইটালিয়ান দার্শনিক নিকোলো ম্যাকিয়াভ্যালি কর্তৃক আঞ্চলিক জাতীয়তাবাদের প্রতিষ্ঠার পর থেকে তা সারা বিশ্বে জনপ্রিয় হতে থাকে।

ফলে, বিভিন্ন অঞ্চলের লোকেরা নিজেদেরকে অন্য অঞ্চলের লোকদের চেয়ে শ্রেষ্ঠ মনে করতে থাকে।

কিন্তু এটা দিনের আলোর মতো সত্য যে, রাজনৈতিক সাফল্য কোন আঞ্চলিক জাতীয়তাবাদের উপর নির্ভর করেনা।

সম্রাট আলেকজান্ডার, অশোক, বাবর, আকবর, আলমগীর, রাণী এলিজাবেথ, ভিক্টোরিয়া, আব্রাহাম লিঙ্কন, ভ্লাদিমির লেনিন, জোসেফ স্ট্যালিন, ফ্রাঙ্কলিন ডি. রুজভেল্ট, স্যার উইনস্টন চার্চিল, ব্যারিস্টার মোহাম্মাদ আলী জিন্নাহ্ , শ্রী করমচাঁদ মহাত্মা গান্ধী, ন্যালসন ম্যান্ডেলা......কোন ধরণের আঞ্চলিক অথবা অন্য কোন জাতীয়তাবাদের উপর নির্ভর করে সফল হননি। 

তবে, এটা সত্য যে, জাপানি, চায়নিজ, বাংলাদেশি, ভারতীয়, ইউরোপিয়, আমেরিকান ইত্যাদি জাতীয়তা রয়েছে, কিন্তু আল্লাহ্ পাকের সৃষ্টি হিসেবে পৃথিবীর সব মানুষই সমান।

তাই রাজনৈতিক সাফল্য অথবা ব্যাক্তিগত সাফল্য কোন ধরণের জাতীয়তাবাদের উপর নির্ভর করেনা।

আর সর্বশেষ ও সর্বশ্রেষ্ঠ নবী মুহাম্মাদ বিন আব্দুল্লাহ্ (সা.) - এর বিভিন্ন হাদীসে প্রত্যক্ষ ও পরোক্ষভাবে বলা হয়েছে যে, কোন বর্ণ অথবা কোন বংশ মানুষের শ্রেষ্ঠত্ব নির্ধারণ করে না, বরং ব্যাক্তির আমল, তথা কর্মই ব্যাক্তির শ্রেষ্ঠত্ব নির্ধারণ করে।
