“The godfathers” are the religious, polite,noble, wise... Individuals (such as :- priest father). 

Peoples respect them from their hearts. 

 But, unfortunately, some literature and journalists (such as :- Mario Puzo) used this respectable word for big criminals. 

Thus, a big confusion started about this word. 

 Let us dear literature,journalist,politicians…. Use “The godfather” for “The religious” persons and 'crime leaders' for 'big criminals'.
