 The people of East Pakistan were dissatisfied with the misrule of the rulers of West Pakistan since 1947.

 Therefore, through a long political process, Bangabandhu spoke on behalf of seven and a half crore Bengalis on March 7.

 On that day Bangabandhu gave a speech to fight for independence and realize the rights of the people through democracy.

 That is why Bangabandhu said at one stage of his speech that day, "You (Pakistani rulers) cannot torture seven crore people."

 As a result, all those present at Bangabandhu's speech agreed and took part in the war.

"সাতই মার্চে বঙ্গবন্ধু বাংলার জনসাধারণের প্রতিনিধি হয়ে ভাষণ দিয়েছিলেন।"

১৯৪৭ এর পর থেকে পশ্চিম পাকিস্তানের শাসকদের অপশাসনের ফলে ওদের বিরুদ্ধে পূর্ব পাকিস্তানের জনসাধারণ ছিলো অসন্তুষ্ট।

তাই দীর্ঘ রাজনৈতিক প্রক্রিয়ার মাধ্যমে বঙ্গবন্ধু সাড়ে সাত কোটি বাঙালির প্রতিনিধি হয়ে সাতই মার্চে ভাষণ দিয়েছিলেন।

সেদিন বঙ্গবন্ধু ভাষণ দিয়েছিলেন স্বাধীনতার সংগ্রাম করে গণতন্ত্রের মাধ্যমে জনগণের অধিকার আদায়ের জন্য।

তাই বঙ্গবন্ধু সেদিনের ভাষণের এক পর্যায়ে বলেছিলেন, "সাত কোটি মানুষকে দাবায়ে রাখতে পারবা না।"

ফলে বঙ্গবন্ধুর ঐ ভাষণে উপস্থিত সকলেই সম্মতি জ্ঞাপন করে যুদ্ধে অংশগ্রহণ করে ছিলেন।
